Fright Fest returning to Darien Lake this fall

Jun 27, 2018

DARIEN — Now that Six Flags has agreed to re-purchase Darien Lake Theme Park, a popular attraction will be returning this fall.

Six Flags announced Wednesday morning that its halloween festival, Fright Fest, is coming back to Darien Lake for five weekends this fall, beginning Sept. 28.

Fright Fest was a staple when Six Flags previously owned the park, but has not been included the past several years. And this time, they’re promising it will be even scarier.

“No one does Halloween like Six Flags, and we are thrilled to re-introduce this immersive, terrifyingly thrilling event to our guests,” said Park President Chris Thorpe in a press release. “Fright Fest is definitely not recommended for children ages 12 or younger. We are turning the scare factor way up for the biggest and scariest Halloween event in the region.”

During the day, family friendly events, like a trick-or-treat trail, will be available along with the usual games and rides. At night, the theme park becomes a scream park.

Fright Fest will include:

• Zombies roaming around the park.

• New scare zones and haunted mazes.

• Two new haunted houses.

• A new laser light show, Spooktacular, at 10:30 p.m.

Fright Fest runs from 6 to 11 p.m. Fridays, 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturdays and 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sundays Sept. 28 through Oct. 28.
