Concert announcement: Kendrick Lamar coming to Darien Lake

DARIEN CENTER — One of the most honored rappers in the world today is coming to Darien Lake.

Kendrick Lamar, a seven-time Grammy winner who is nominated for seven more awards this year, will bring his Championship Tour to the Darien Lake Amphitheater on June 3. The show will include special guests Schoolboy Q, SZA, Jay Rock, Ab-Soul, Isaiah Rashad, Sir, Lance Skiiwalker and Zacari.

Since the release of his debut album, “Section.80,” in 2011, Lamar has sold more than 6 million albums in the United States.

His most recent album, “Damn,” has garnered the most success. Since its release last April, it has sold more than 3 million copies and spawned Lamar’s first No. 1 single, “Humble.” It has also earned him Grammy nominations for Album of the Year, Best Rap Album, Record of the Year, Best Rap Performance, Best Rap Song, Best Music Video and Best Rap/Sung Performance.
