All in the family: Cinquino’s serves loyal customers and new fans at Cinquino’s Pizza in Batavia

Feb 6, 2020

Cinquino’s Pizza has only been open for two months, but it’s already a hit with the community.

After Paul Berardini retired, the former Big Pauly’s Pizza became Cinquino’s Pizza as Angela Cinquino took over the business. She had been working at the pizza shop ever since she was 21, eventually becoming the long-term manager, so the changeover was quick and simple.

“It’s a lot of hard work, but it’s fun also. I get to know all the customers,” Cinquino said. “(Regulars of Big Pauly’s) are still coming here, and I’ve seen a lot of new faces. I’ve seen a lot of people I haven’t in a long time.”

She said everyone has been really good, and the pizza place has been getting a lot of good reviews.

Recently introduced to the menu has been taco pizza, which has been received very well.

“Tuesday has been the main day I’ve got a special on them, and I’ve also been selling them every day,” Cinquino said. “It’s been a big hit.”

In the future she is looking to introduce roast beef subs, as people have been asking for her to add it to the menu.

Owning a pizza parlor runs in her family, and Cinquino is the third generation to own and operate one. Her grandfather, Nick, and her father, Nick II, had operated the former Pizza Partners in Batavia. She said it is like a dream come true for her family.

“My brothers and I always talked about owning a pizzeria when we were older because of my father,” she said. “So it’s pretty cool we got the chance to do it.”

While Cinquino is the sole owner, one brother works for her full-time and the other one does marketing and comes in once a week to help with the pizzeria.

Cinquino’s Pizza is looking to have a grand opening either by the end of February or the beginning of March with prizes and giveaways.
