Activities abound in Genesee County this time of year. Fall offers all kinds of fun for friends and families.  Folks around here like to visit the many farmer’s markets in search of apple cider, pumpkins and mums.

Find pumpkins, apples, gourds and more at our many markets, but if you're craving fall-themed baked goods, you'll need to visit Roanoke Apple Farm in Stafford. On Friday through Tuesday from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm you can pick apples and shop their selection of baked goods, pumpkins and cider. If you’re looking for fun for the whole family, check out Pully’s Farm Market to feed the goats, navigate through the winding corn-maze, play in the corn box, try your hand at the rubber duck races, bean bag toss, and you won't want to miss the PUMPKIN CANNON on Saturdays and Sundays at Noon, 2pm, and 4pm! 🎃

Enjoy the chilling rides and haunted mansion at Six Flags Darien Lake Theme Park's, Fright Fest. It's a spooky time of year as zombies and ghouls take over the park. Enjoy thrills and activities for the whole family throughout the day and come back for a truly frightening evening of fun after the sun goes down. Fright Fest offers a wide variety of places to get your scare on including several haunted houses and scare zones located throughout the park. The stuff of nightmares lurk around every corner as the dark of night washes over the park. The ghouls are set free for their daily hunting rituals. BEWARE! There is no place to hide!

Jack's Revenge at Rolling Hills Asylum

If you’re looking to go from spooky to full-on TERRIFIED you’ll need to head to Rolling Hills Asylum in East Bethany (featured on Syfy & Travel Channels and Destination America). Not only can you take guided tours and participate in ghost-hunts but new this year is Jack’s Revenge: a multi-sensory haunted house experience. Do you dare roam the halls alone to experience the thrills and chills of a theatrical haunted house with the special effects you crave created inside a REAL haunted Asylum! Yes we have actors but we also have REAL ghosts! Still craving more? Get Committed to a 3 hour Psych Hold!

Is it a pumpkin spice latte that you seek? Look no further! Our coffee shops do not disappoint this time of year!  A few of local favorites are:

  • The Coffee Press - also serving up apple cider mimosas (I know, we're pretty excited too!)
  • Coffee Karma - who's cool vibe makes a great hangout (especially on Thursday evenings when they host, Open Mic Night).
  • Eden Bakeshop & Cafe - offering up sweet fall favorites and as added perk - they're all vegan!

And lastly, it would not be fall if you didn’t take the opportunity to explore the great outdoors and visit our parks, nature trails, and forests in search of the vibrant changing colors of the fall foliage.
