Chic shopping in downtown Batavia
Downtown Batavia became a little more stylish with the recent opening of Pollyana & Dot clothing store and The Hidden Doorhome decor. Both stores are located in one location at 202 East Main Street in downtown Batavia. What's been described as "two chic stores in one," Pollyanna & Dot and The Hidden Door is a pleasing shopping experience.
The store layout is fun and makes you slow down to look at all the merchandise. In most cases, even the displays are for sale. The clothes and home goods being merchandised next to each other spawns ideas for creativity and enhancements to one's lifestyle. A big reason to visit this store is that the merchandise is completely new to Batavia and cannot be found in other local stores. The owners Ashley Bateman (Pollyanna & Dot) and Leanna Di Risio (The Hidden Door) are following passion and interests by opening the store. The items they sell are very much a reflection of the owners.
Pollyanna & Dot features stylish clothing for all sizes. They currently have a beautiful selection of summer dresses - from conservative to sassy. Owner Ashley Bateman said that they only carry one dress per size, which adds to some exclusivity and uniqueness. With the weather heating up, swimsuits have been ordered and will be in the store shortly.
The Hidden Door's items have a slant towards rustic. So many home furnishing items dispersed throughout the store: vases, serving trays, wall art, pillows, mirrors, the heavenly Rewined candles and so much more. There are also numerous pieces of vintage furniture that is for sale.
