Downtown Batavia has added a new store to its Main Street - the Batavia Bootery. Nestled between Main Street Pizza and City Church, the store was opened in April of 2017 and brought a retail shoe store back into downtown.
The Bootery’s purpose is a simple one – American-made shoes done well. And that they do. They are Batavia’s only high-end footwear center and each shoe is lovingly crafted. With rows of polished dress shoes, hearty work boots, and casual shoes for everything in between, the Bootery is like a step back in time. The store is reminiscent of years gone by, when streets and airports were lined with shoe polishing stations, there was never an occasion needed to dress up, and locally-made goods were the best of the best.
The Bootery is all about local – it’s in their founder’s history. They’re the flagship retail location for a partnership between P.W. Minor and Charles Men’s shop, two Batavia staples that know a thing or two about American-made goods. P.W Minor was founded in 1867 and is the oldest women's shoe manufacturer in the U.S., with all products produced at the manufacturing facility right here in Batavia, NY. Charles Men's Shop, Inc. has been Batavia family owned & operated since 1947.
