A visit to the Jell-O Museum in LeRoy, NY
Take a walk down the Jell-O brick road all the way back to 1897 when the ever famous dessert was invented in LeRoy, New York!
You’ll find yourself entering the doors of the Jell-O museum that is filled with history of the delicious, fun dessert. As you are welcomed into the museum you will be invited to take a guided tour to enhance your knowledge on Jell-O and how it all started in the town of LeRoy and was continued to be manufactured there for nearly 70 years.
The tour guide is as sweet as the dessert itself and will be sure to make your experience unforgettable. As you make your way through the informative museum you will go on a scavenger hunt for facts to fill out an entertaining questionnaire that you will be able to take home and share with your friends and family. In 1897 the famous four delicious flavors were raspberry, strawberry, lemon and orange and continue to be some of the most popular flavors to this day and throughout the tour you will discover the 18 amazing flavors of Jell-O available today. You will also find out how many boxes of Jell-O are sold throughout the United States on a daily basis, I’ll give you a hint, it’s a lot!
Once you have made your way through the exhibit feel free to explore the downstairs where the history continues. On the lower level the transportation exhibit will have you traveling back in time before you know it. The exhibit offers over 100 years of transportation, including a 1908 Cadillac and even an ox cart. After making your way through the transportation exhibit, walk through the gift shop to get yourself some souvenirs to remind you of the experience and memories you made at the Jell-O museum.
