Jun 2, 2022
It's officially June, which means that summer is finally here. Okay, technically summer does not begin until June 21st, but for most of us out there, it's June and we're past Memorial Day Weekend, so summer is basically here.
Kids will soon be off of school and those summer events we love doing every year will be back in full force. This will be the first summer in three years that has felt close to normal, due to the pandemic.
One of the most popular activities to do for Western New York residents every June, July and August is visit Six Flags Darien Lake.
Darien Lake has reopened for the 2022 season and the most notable change is the giant Ferris Wheel (The Big Wheel) has been retired and torn down. Hopefully, a new giant Ferris Wheel will take its place in the coming years.
There are some updated changed with Six Flags Darien Lake attractions.
As WGRZ reports, there are changes to the water park at Darien Lake, along with changes to the historic roller coaster, the Predator.
According to the park, they have refurbished the Predator. 300 feet of the track has been redone to make the ride much smoother and even faster.
Predator is Darien Lake's only wooden roller coaster and while the ride is a tradition for many Buffalonians, it definitely has garnered a reputation of beating you up. My dad always said that he was sore after the ride growing up, so I think a lot of people will be thrilled to hear about its changes.
