BATAVIA — Members of the Batavia Rotary Club are making final preparations for the Club’s annual Fly-In Breakfast, scheduled from 7 a.m. to noon June 17 at Genesee County Airport, 4701 Saile Drive.
The event is expected to attract more than 1,500 guests from across Western New York, as well as dozens of pilots of small aircraft from across the state and beyond.
Residents throughout Western New York are invited to enjoy breakfast, meet the pilots, and view their aircraft. The Fly-In Breakfast menu will feature sausage, eggs, pancakes, and beverages. Rotarian-cooks have also become noted for their “any-way-you-want-them” omelets, which will be available.
Adult tickets are $7. Tickets for children ages 4 through 12 are $5. Children under the age of 4 are admitted free. Tickets for the event may be obtained from any member of the Batavia Rotary Club or at the door.
Saile Drive is located just north of the City of Batavia and the Batavia exit of the New York State Thruway, off Route 98.
All proceeds from the event benefit the Batavia Rotary Club’s programs for youth and the community. Last year, the Club donated more than $100,000 to charitable causes.
Fly-In Breakfast Chair Edmund Leising said that the Fly-In Breakfast gives area residents a unique way to spend a Sunday morning – and benefit others at the same time.
“The breakfast is great, and everything is prepared by volunteers who are members of the Batavia Rotary Club,” Leising said. “This is an exciting event for hundreds of people from our community, who enjoy eating a home-cooked breakfast at the airport and meeting small craft pilots from around the state.”
