While I spent some time this afternoon photographing the giant tree near the front entrance of the Woodward Memorial Library in Le Roy, two different people approached me to reminiscence about their childhoods 20 or 30 years ago -- climbing in the tree, carving their initials in the bark, getting yelled at by their parents for such shenanigans.
