Matchbox Twenty has announced a 50-plus date summer tour, the includes an August stop at Darien Lake.
The pop rock band will be joined by award-winning rock band, The Wallflowers.
Matchbox Twenty 2020 is the band’s first tour since 2017, when they reunited for the “A Brief History of Everything” tour to mark the 20th anniversary of their RIAA Diamond-certified debut album “Yourself or Someone Like You.”
Rob Thomas said, “I’m proud to be a part of the greatest pop rock band in the world and I can’t wait to play with them again. Stepping on stage with Matchbox and sharing those songs with the fans feels as natural as breathing to me at this point.”
Thomas is currently on tour after releasing his fourth solo album, “Chip Tooth Smile.”
Ticket information for the Aug. 29 Darien Lake tour stop have not been announced. The tour is also slated to stop July 19 in Syracuse at the St. Joseph’s Health Amphitheater at Lakeview.

â Tickets go on sale friday for Foreigner’s Aug. 7 date. The classic rock band will be joined by Kansas and Europe for the 7 p.m. concert. Tickets, which cost $25 to $129.50, will be available at LiveNation.com and Ticketmaster.
Foreigner has had 16 Top 30 hits, including “Juke Box Hero” – the inspiration for the tour’s title, “Hot Blooded, “Urgent,” and the power ballad “Waiting for a Girl Like You.”
In November 2019, the group released a DVD/CD package, “Double Vision, Then & Now,” that celebrated the 40th anniversary of the iconic album.
Kansas, a one-time garage band from Topeka, that went on to produce million-selling singles “Carry on Wayward Son,” which continues to be among the most played songs on classic rock radio, and “Dust in the Wind,” which the band says has been played on the radio more than three million times. Kansas will release its 16th studio album this summer.
Europe’s hits include the high-energy rocker “The Final Countdown” and the ballad “Carrie.”
â Also going on sale Friday are tickets for the Zac Brown Band’s June 14 concert. The band’s “Roar with the Lions” tour will include special guest Gregory Alan Isakov. Show time is 7 p.m.

ZBB, a frequent summer visit to the theme park’s amphitheater, plans to mix music from the band’s entire discography with genre-crossing cover songs.
