About 1,000 people from the area are slated to be employed. Batavia will be the home of the largest plant under one roof in the extensive industrial organization of Sylvania Electric Products, Inc. The cost will be $4 million. It will embrace 422,000 square feet of floor space, more than the combined area of eight regulation football fields. It will be located on over 124 acres of land.
