Great Batavia Train Show looking at more success with new move

Sep 28, 2018

The Great Batavia Train Show has moved on down the line.

Not too far, though.

After a successfully spring show at Richard C. Call Arena at Genesee Community College, the show returns for its fall event after years of hosting it at Quality Inn & Suites on Park Road.

Genesee Society of Model Engineers has scheduled its fall show for Nov. 11 at the arena, which the group says “offers unmatched convenience for attendees and vendors.”

The show has been ongoing for more than 40 years, with all forms of railroad and train-related merchandise, modeling demonstrations and door prizes.

The Genesee Society of Model Engineers has promoted the hobby of model railroading in the Western New York area for nearly 50 years. This not-for-profit organization is headquartered at 50 Main St. in Oakfield. In its facility above the M&T Bank, its membership maintains four operating model train displays. An open house is offered free to the public each December, and visitors are welcome on Tuesday evenings.

The train show will be from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Nov. 11. Tickets are $6 for adults and $3 for those under 18 and free for children under 13.
