DARIEN CENTER — An old-school double bill of rock and roll is coming to the Darien Lake Amphitheater this summer, as Heart and Joan Jett & the Blackhearts will perform on July 26.
LiveNation announced the concert Monday morning.
The Love Alive tour will also feature special guest Elle King.
Rock and Roll Hall of Famers Heart broke through in the mid-1970s and have sold more than 35 million albums worldwide in an influential and lengthy career. Fronted by sisters Ann and Nancy Wilson, the band has seven platinum albums. They have had two No. 1 singles, “These Dreams” and “Alone.”
Joan Jett & the Blackhearts, also members of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, burst onto the scene in 1982 when their cover of “I Love Rock ‘n’ Roll” spent seven weeks atop the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
