BATAVIA — Batavia Downs has doubled down on the entertainment for the July 20 installment of its Rockin’ the Downs summer concert series.
Batavia Downs announced Monday afternoon that Asia Featuring John Payne will now headline the show, which will also feature Rumours: A Fleetwood Mac Tribute.
Payne served as the lead singer for the supergroup Asia from 1991 to 2006. Following a split of the band, he formed Asia Featuring John Payne the following year. He has been the only consistent band member in its 11 year history.
Rumours: A Fleetwood Mac Tribute had originally been announced as the headliner for the show, but will now serve as the opening act.
“Asia featuring John Payne is a great addition to the summer concert series,” said Henry Wojtaszek, CEO/president at Batavia Downs Gaming & Hotel, in a press release. “Having Rumours play all of Fleetwood Mac’s hits as an opening act will give concert goers a full evening of great music.”
