Christmas comes early to Red Osier

Dec 6, 2017

STAFFORD — Santa made an appearance Monday at the Red Osier Landmark Restaurant in Stafford and he’s planning to return next Monday.

The restaurant hosted a community Santa event for residents and their children to walk the restaurant grounds with over 2 million lights on display. Next Monday’s visit will be from 6 to 8 p.m. for those who were unable to attend this week.

More than 300 parents and children met with Santa and enjoyed roast beef sandwiches, salt potatoes, hot cocoa and homemade cookies which were available for purchase from the restaurant’s food cart.

Owners Steven Foster and Timothy Adams said they are very active in community events throughout the Genesee County region. Feeling there are not a lot of local places to meet Santa and with the famous Fargo lights display on hold this year, the owners created a “Winter Wonderland of Lights” and made a call to Santa to fill in the voids left in the Stafford community.

“We are proud to own businesses in Stafford, proud to live in Stafford and proud to start a new local community event where families can enjoy together without traveling to Buffalo or Rochester,” Foster said.

Next Monday, Red Osier will again have the restaurant food cart open for food to purchase.
