DARIEN CENTER — Nickelodeon boy band Big Time Rush is planning to bring its Big Time Summer Tour to Darien Lake Theme Park for an Aug. 9 show.
Tickets are scheduled to go on sale at 10 a.m. March 10 at ticketmaster.com or by calling 1 (800) 745-3000, according to an announcement on the band’s website, www.btrband.com. Prices were not announced.

The band will perform songs off its latest album, “Elevate,” including “Music Sounds Better With U,” “All Over Again” and “Elevate.”
The tour begins July 5 in Columbus, Ohio, and is scheduled to perform in more than 50 cities in the United States and Canada.
During select dates, Big Time Rush — which features Logan Henderson, Kendall Schmidt, Carlos Pena Jr. and James Maslow, who gow by their real first names in the Nickelodeon series — will be joined by Austalian pop singer Cody Simpson and “X-Factor” finalist Rachel Crow. Additional acts will be announced.
On March 10, Nickelodeon premieres “Big Time Movie,” which finds the band starring in a James Bond-type thriller with an intentionally silly plot that allows the band to do covers of Beatles songs.
The film has them land in London and immediately and unwittingly become enmeshed in a spy caper. The essential plot point is that one of their backpacks was switched with a backpack carrying an anti-gravity device in the shape of a beetle. The safety of the entire world hinges on who controls the device.
Sir Atticus Moon, intent on world domination, is on a mission to acquire the metal beetle, and he dispatches his forces to retrieve the backpack from Big Time Rush.
