If you lived in Batavia between 1940 and 1972, chances are you stopped at The Dagwood, a popular eating establishment on Main Street.

The Dagwood was one of several smaller restaurants in the downtown area during that period. Others included Don's Dinette, The Plaza Restaurant, Young's Restaurant and the Berry Patch, among others.
