Genesee Community College invites the public to the last of four scheduled presentations in the new Historical Horizons Lecture Series.

In “Petticoats, Pistols and Prison Ships: Women in the Life of Andrew Jackson,” Dan Hamner, adjunct instructor of history at GCC will discuss the relationships of the seventh President of the United States. Historians have certainly not ignored the women in Andrew Jackson’s life. In fact, these relationships have provided some of the most colorful anecdotes available to his biographers. However, those stories have rarely been told together and more importantly, historians have only just begun to ask what these stories say about Jackson’s view on women and the society in which they all lived, loved and struggled.

All lectures take place on the first Wednesday of the month, February to May, and are located in room T102 of the Conable Technology Building at Genesee Community College.
